Shame on Jerry! They "just have to educate us." I thought only Liberals knew more than the rest of us. So, they know more than we do because it is all so complicated and grey. I would rather have black & white, with politcal winners and politcal losers. We would know what we're getting, why, and by whom. This compromise, grey, professional politician yields the trash we get now at every level, in every state, of the United States. None of the U.S. founding fathers and few of the Texas one were politicians, much less professional politicians. I would rather have private citizens any day.

This is despicable. YES, many issues ARE black and white. All things must be considered in choices for our elected officials, however when it comes down to it the very "basics" (which he seems to think tea party people only understand) nearly always overrule the "specifics" of a case. Politics weren't hard to understand in the past, people and society wasn't a "difficult" monster to navigate, our inalienable rights didn't change from being a valued thing to something that must be controlled.

This country was meant to be overseen by public servants, not professional politicians, who can use common sense and basic truths and fundamentals to make the right decisions for our society. When a politician or party tells you "it's just too complicated for you, you need to just vote me in and I'm smart enough to make the decisions for you", then they need to be thrown out with the rest of the garbage. That is the talk of a tyrant.
